This brief piece is Jason Baxter's examination of how the machine age has changed our perception of beauty, reality, and ourselves. He then looks at literature as an antidote for those who are willing to slow down and enter into something more complex than our smoothed out age of selfies, AI, and pop culture. I love some pop culture, just as we all do, but I also love old literature and finding complexity below the surface. This book does a good job of presenting the contrast and also the need for connecting with reality.
