We've been a member of a CSA for about half a year now, and I have to say that we're not going to renew our membership. In theory, in the summer, it seemed like a great idea, and it may well be for people who are really in tune with eating in season. But in reality a lot of the veg here goes bad because we either don't have the time or the inspiration to figure out how to make chard palatable to the young 'uns, or we just can't bear looking at spaghetti squash again, or we're hampered by the fact that we all seem to loathe sweet potatoes. Maybe once we're out of the winter vegetable phase we'll feel better about it, but I can't wait until my contract is up and we can just go back to buying whatever vegetables we feel like. I guess we've succumbed to modernity here.
