Worth a Thousand Words: Portrait of a Woman

Portrait of a Woman (c.1520). Quentin Metsys

What I like about this is that she's looking out of the portrait at something in our world. That amuses me. And that she stopped reading her devotional to do it. That is just like me. Easily distracted.

  1. Good points. Yes, she's supposed to be reading the Bible, which is inside the world of the picture, and she is distracted by something outside the picture. How life like she is painted. Almost looks like a photograph.
