The Ciardi translation is the one I grew up on, and it's not bad, but I think some of the more recent scholarly translations might be more accurate. If you or any of your readers are interested, try the Musa translation or the Durling translation. The most poetic translation I have come across is the Pinsky translation. Unfortunately he only translated the Inferno and not the other two books.
