We discuss Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky in our opener for Season 16. This was selected by special guest Rosamund Hodge who joins us for a discussion that is chock-full of spiders. No one wanted to fall in love with a spider, but we did anyway.
This novel was recommended to me previously, and I had known nothing about the author. I enjoyed it immensely for many of the reasons mentioned in your discussion. Such well-done perspective shifts. While I also enjoyed Vernon Vinge's "A Deepness in the Sky" for the same reasons and also intelligent spiders, this novel is better at taking you into their world.
ReplyDeletePlus, I was glad that Rosamund also highly recommends "Fulll Metal Alchemist", which is the only box set of manga I own.
Just one more reason for me to check the library for them! Thanks Jeff!
