That scene sewing up the eyelid haunts me to this day. So there you go. It was good, but like Sophie's Choice - traumatizing. :-)Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11368767968953817531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881054.post-38488372013804787142015-04-22T13:52:57.519-05:002015-04-22T13:52:57.519-05:00I fell in love with Omar Sy. But still fun.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11368767968953817531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881054.post-40944665499527738422015-04-22T13:50:54.972-05:002015-04-22T13:50:54.972-05:00Oh, I loved DIVING BELL AND BUTTERFLY, as well. .....Oh, I loved DIVING BELL AND BUTTERFLY, as well. ...but for very different reasons. (And yeah, it's hard to stomach.)

I really liked the way Toledano and Nakache used the bookend scene. Very clever. (Also, I'm I could watch Omar Sy in pretty much anything/everything. Wonderful work.)Joseph Susankahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15699936111739314047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881054.post-87677538255501203882015-04-22T12:46:57.040-05:002015-04-22T12:46:57.040-05:00Agreed! I was so depressed after watching The Diving Bell and the Butterfly that I swore off such movies.

This one had so many great moments, both comic and touching. I think one of my favorite moments was when Driss is watching his mother clean office buildings. He communicated such feeling simply through expression. And then that was echoed in his younger brother later when they were waiting for her at the train station.

The film carried a lot of nuance for being so humorous.Julie D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08384291674560438678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881054.post-26387186514397754922015-04-22T12:29:11.963-05:002015-04-22T12:29:11.963-05:00I loved this one, as well, Julie. If it wasn't the wonderful mustache gag.)

I especially love that it's (mostly) a comedy.Joseph Susankahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15699936111739314047noreply@blogger.com
