As every year, the only thing changing is my Thanksgiving funny bone ... the sweet potatoes. I'm trying a Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan Crumble that I picked up from the November Saveur. Minus the marshmallows which have never been a favorite of mine.
Preliminary tastes bode well ... very well indeed. I am struck by the inclusion of fresh ginger and nutmeg which seem to add a delicate nuance.

We are not American, so that sweet potato recipe looks really strange, (sorry, probably a cultural thing), but what the heck is kosher salt?
Jes.
Kosher salt is coarse and thought to taste better than table salt.
