Peonies are one of the few gardening advantages I have here in Virginia that I did not have living in Texas. Mine are still blooming and bringing me daily joy. Thanks for the picture.
There are no peonies in my Los Angeles garden, but they were abundant while I was growing up in New England, so I will always swoon for them because of the memories they percolate. Beautiful image. :)
Peonies bloomed just outside the back door when I was growing up. Now we have a nice big bush outside our front door, some 50 years later. My wife says her mom always said (in the Midwest) the peonies always bloom by Memorial day. It just may happen too! I hope to send you a photo of the progress on Monday.

Oh my mother's peonies just burst open. I guess they open later up here than down there. They are beautiful. I think they're special.
