Worth a Thousand Words

The Travelling Companions
Augustus Leopold Egg, 1862

"Art in the Age of Steam: Europe, America & The Railway, 1830-1960" is a subject that I'd be interested in anyway. When I see it opens at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City then I warm to it doubly. Of course, I'm not going to be anywhere near KC but I have very fond memories of that museum which is in the tradition of a proper, huge, magnificent building in its own right, as well as housing wonderful art.
