Worth a Thousand Words: Architectural Alphabet

ANTONIO BASOLI ~ ARCHITECTURAL ALPHABET, 1839

We all know I'm a sucker for alphabets and this is one of the most fascinating I've ever seen. A quick interwebs search got me to all the wild things where clicking on the image gets you to the entire alphabet. I've got to see if there's a book of these. I could look at them for hours.

6 brave one(s) among us:

Thanks for posting it, Julie,

Somehow I thought you'd like it. There is so much detail that I just love.

I can't decide which letter I like the most, although "K" is an early favorite.

You always gather the best sites!

Awww, shucks, ma'am!

I was partial to T and G.

Yes, I also liked G a lot. Heck, I love them all!

One of the things that I like about this series, is that it reminds me somehow of a childhood memory of looking at illustrations in old books. I love the sense of the imagined stories going on in the pictures.

I am definitely bookmarking the site.

Yes, I loved the idea of the artist's imagined city. It all had a coherent feel.
