- Baptism = Soul Tattoo says Pat Gohn. Never thought of it like that but it's a good image.
- My re-review of The Rite at Patheos, especially considering that a Hollywood movie is coming up of the book (which Aliens in This World warns is nowhere near reflecting the truth ... though it still may make a good movie).
- Did you know that Duke Ellington sent out Christmas cards all year long? He thought it was always appropriate to remember the Incarnation. From an email sent by The Anchoress.
- What I Believe by Leo Tolstoy ... now available as a free audiobook at Librivox. "The inner working of my soul, which I wish to speak of here, was not the result of a methodical investigation of doctrinal theology, or of the actual texts of the gospel; it was a sudden removal of all that hid the true meaning of the Christian doctrine – a momentary flash of light, which made everything clear to me. ..."

Soul Tattoos, The Rite, and Duke Ellington's Christmas Cards
I was going to do a Blogging Around post but have no time. So here are a few super-fast links.
5 brave one(s) among us:
Hello,
My name is Zac Brakefield. I have been reading your blog for some time now. I love it! I'm excited to announce that I have started my own blog! http://catholictrailers.wordpress.com/ I have put your link on my blog and was wondering if you could be kind enough to do the same.
God bless,
Zac Brakefield
"Soul tattoo" is not a good image; it's a negative one. Baptism heals and cleanses; a tattoo disfigures and diseases.
For me tattoo = indelible.
The visible sign of something invisible which I can grasp mentally. That works for baptism for me. :-)
I'm not arguing about tattoos, just sayin' why it works for me.
I am sooooooooo right. Harrumph.
Life is good.
(And tattoos shorten lives)
I think tattoos also cause lung cancer. :-D
Zac ... I will definitely put you on the sidebar ... now I must just get the time to update it! :-)
