Urgent Prayer Request

For a young girl who is making a decision about an unplanned pregnancy. She wants to give the baby up for adoption but is being pressured to have an abortion. Lord, move her to stand up against pressure, to make the decision to love the little life inside her, and send her the support she needs to have her baby and to thrive.

Update: no news, but I will post an update when I know it. Thank you so much for all of the prayers, comments, and personal emails ... which I have forwarded to my friend who is in touch with the situation. Keep praying...

  1. Ugh. Even if they're pro choice, it should be pro-the-mom's-choice, not pro-everyone-else-but-the-mom's choice.

**prayers** for her. If they force her into an abortion she doesn't want, they'll have destroyed her relationship with them forever.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend this young woman in battle. Be her protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

  6. I will keep her in my prayers. If adoption is the route she wants to go, assure her please that there are many, many, MANY families, including mine, who would love to love her baby as much as she does! My boys were both adopted, and I am so thankful every day for their mothers' selfless choices. May God bless this woman and surround her with people who will encourage her to choose life and hold her hand during this time.

  8. My mother was raped when she was 20. It was 1950 and she lived in a small, rural farming community. Her perpetraitor was caught 3 weeks later when he did the same thing to a 13 yr old. My mother was painfully shy. The local Dr. offered to send her to the states for an abortion. Her mother was a very cruel woman who believed my mother had angered the devil and brought this on herself. In such circumstances and feeling so along, I am sure the temptation to put the baby out of her mind would have been great. My mother prayed. She had my brother right on time and she kept him. Her reasoning was that even though his creation was painful he was still given to her with love because God protected her from this vile man from killing her. I love my brother and I couldn't imagine my life without him. I pray every day and thank my mother that at 21 had the fortitude to make the right decision. The other decision is one I believe would have been far more difficult to live with.

  9. Perhaps she needs a referral to aplace where her adoption will be encouraged and facilitated, while surrounded by loving Christian influences. Martha and Mary House, Escondido California, will be a nurturing shelter for her. It is Eastern Orthodox in affiliation, but Christians of other confessions are welcomed and only expected to faithfully attend a local church of their own confession.
