- Personality Test from Savage Chickens
- Korean Telenovelas from Aliens in This World. Yes, you heard me.
Who Are You?: Dead father tries to set up his daughter with a husband by temporarily possessing a businessman for three hours a day. Did I mention the businessman has OCD like Monk? Boy, you sure don’t get this kind of plot in the West!
- Book Lover's Summer from The Wall Street Journal. 10 fiction and 5 nonfiction recommendations ... one of which I was surprised to see since it meant I was on the leading edge (not a spot I'm used to). I have recently finished The Food of a Younger Land in galley form and will be reviewing soon.
- Obama's Blackberry ... a book review from The Wall Street Journal. Not sure it its my cup of tea but this made me laugh out loud this morning:
The comedy team takes the occasional jab at the president as a nerd. In a text he asks Michelle Obama if she’s seen his Spock ears (he wants to wear them). She texts: “we said not in public?” He responds: “not public: big mtng w/Putin.”
- Left to Tell from Just Another Day of Catholic Pondering ... book review.
- Radio Downloader. Jesse from SFFaudio sings the praises of a piece of a program that browses, automatically retrieves, downloads, and converts BBC Radio programs into MP3s. I will be trying this out this weekend.
- Matheson's I am Legend falls short of classic status says Brian at The Silver Key. I concur, for all the reasons he lists.
- Alcatraz Smedry from The View From the Foothills ... reviewing a book for kids that will also please adults.
- Departures review by Roger Ebert. I've now read three reviews of this movie from widely different sources and all love it.
- Dreams with Sharp Teeth: Harlan Ellison documentary review from Black Gate.
- That's Not the Imax I Grew Up With commentary from Roger Ebert.
- A truly impressive list of classical CD review commentary, via The Paragraph Farmer. (I notice the link is not responding at the moment but it was earlier today so try back later if you are interested in this one.)
- The Slug from Dr. Boli's Allegorical Bestiary.
- Urban Sketchers ... a source of daily discovery for me. An attempt to show the diversity found therein is below.
