2008 Catholic Blog Awards Coming Soon

Nominations for the 2008 Catholic Blog Awards will open this year at 12:00 Noon CST on Friday, February 15, 2008 and close on Friday, Febrauary 29, 2008 at 12:00 Noon CST. Voting will begin on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 12:00 Noon CST and end on Monday, March 17, 2008 at Noon. Stay tuned to this site for more details.

CyberCatholics (where you can find the scoop) put in so much work to provide us with this event which is a lot of fun ... let's give them a virtual hand of applause!

That said, I am hoping that this year's awards will have primaries (or some such thing) to help narrow down the choices. It is great to see everyone who has been nominated but, against all logic, having every blog nominated in there for the final vote seemed to result in the "same old favorites" topping the lists more than ever. And I know that's what it was designed to avoid. Crazy!

Ah well, perhaps there is no good answer to that question. As God would no doubt tell me, "Where were you when I invented award ceremonies? So stop complaining!" (Me and Job, we're a pair aren't we?)
